The ARCS Atlanta Retreat to Chicago was a four-day extravaganza beautifully orchestrated by our Retreat Chairs Molly Eskew and Debby Kelly. From Wednesday, April 22 - Saturday, April 25, ARCS members and their husbands learned about Chicago’s remarkable architecture, toured the historic Newberry Library https://www.newberry.org and experienced the wonders of the Art Institute of Chicago https://www.artic.edu . We enjoyed presentations of early-stage technology at The Portal https://www.portalinnovations.com/chicago , toured the Lincoln Park Zoo https://www.lpzoo.org , and visited the University of Chicago Crime Lab https://crimelab.uchicago.edu for presentations on causes of crime by University of Chicago behavioral economist and Director of the Chicago Crime Lab, Jens Ludwig. The evenings were a delight for any foodie with dinners at the beautiful and historic Drake Hotel https://www.thedrakehotel.com which was our home during the four-day Retreat, The Chicago Club https://thechicagoclub.org and the Racquet Club of Chicago https://www.rcc.club . Beginning to end, it was a celebration of the beauty, history and cultural wonders of Chicago.
